15 October 2014: Numerical simulation of the flow in a contracting channel with a porous obstacle

The above figures show the numerical simulation of the velocity for the Brinkman problem in a contracting channel with a porous obstacle (the rectangle on the middle) under a decreasing finite sequence of the permeability of the obstacle. These results are obtained by an augmented mixed finite element method applied to a velocity-vorticity-pressure formulation of the corresponding model. Further details can be found in:
