19 November 2014: Simulation of flow into a cracked porous medium

These figures show the two-domain geometry and boundaries, the approximated Brinkman vorticity magnitude, and the approximated velocity magnitude and vectors arising from the numerical simulation of flow in a porous medium with a smoothed V-shaped crack. The numerical approach is given by a suitable mixed finite element method solving the coupled Brinkman-Darcy problem involved. Further details can be found in:
