The student of the Doctoral Program in Applied Sciences with a major in Mathematical Engineering at the Universidad de Concepción and thesis student at the Center for Research in Mathematical Engineering, CI²MA, Yissedt Lara Díaz will present the talk 'A regional approach to the study of the spread and control of COVID -19 in Chile' which, explains' "focuses on a work developed within the framework of my doctoral thesis, where I intend to share with you some particularities present in the evolution of the SARS-Cov2 virus in the regions of Chile, especially for the period contemplated between March 3 and July 27, 2020, taking into account the quarantine measures applied at the regional level before the Step by Step Plan, and which we try to involve in the formulation and description of our compartmental model, which we adjust to regional data to estimate some parameters. We carried out a sensitivity and identifiability study on these parameters, where we were able to detect some dependencies. deficiencies, as well as some limitations that open us the option to consider new problems or approaches for future studies"
