In order to strongly encourage the interaction between the different research areas and to make visible to the local and national scientific community the results obtained both by CI²MA members and by their external collaborators, this center periodically carries out a series of events, called "Focus Seminars", where the main advances are presented in some specific thematic area. This sequence of events continues, in its eighth version, on Wednesday 8 July, with a seminar organized by Dr. Raimund Bürger on "Numerical methods for multiphase flows, geophysics, and related problems", to be held in the Alamiro Robledo Auditorium of the Facultad de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas of the Universidad de Concepción. Eight lectures will be offered by local researchers, students and ex-students from CI²MA, Universidad de Concepción, and visiting researchers from the Universidad del Bío-Bío, Universidad de La Serena, Universidad de Tarapacá, Universidad de Chile and the Universidad de Valencia, Spain.
