In order to strongly encourage the interaction between the different research areas and to make visible to the local and national scientific community the results obtained both by CI²MA members and by their external collaborators, this center periodically carries out a series of events, called "Focus Seminar", where the main advances are presented in some specific thematic area. This sequence of events continues, in its eighth version, on Thursday, January 16, with a seminar organized by Drs. Raimund Bürger and Rommel Bustinza, on "Numerical Analysis of PDEs: Theory, Methods and Applications" to be held at the Alamiro Auditorium Robledo of the Facultad de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas of the Universidad de Concepción. There will be 9 presentations by local researchers, ex-student of CI²MA, of the Universidad del Bío-Bío and visiting researchers from the Université Bordeaux Segalen, France, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad de Valencia, Spain and Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic.
