Raimund Bürger (CI²MA y DIM, UdeC), Gabriel N. Gatica (CI²MA y DIM, UdeC), Ricardo Oyarzúa (CI²MA, UdeC y DMAT, UBB), y Héctor Torres (DM, ULS), have recently started the organization of LA SERENA NUMÉRICA II: Eighth Meeting of Numerical Analysis of Partial Differential Equations, an event that, financed mainly by this initiative of the Associative Research Program of Conicyt in conjunction with the CMM of the U. de Chile and the CI²MA , Will be held in the Departamento de Matemáticas of the Universidad de La Serena, from January 14 to 16, 2015. The first three meetings of this type were held at the Universidad Federico Santa María in Valparaiso, the next two at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Santiago, then at the Universidad de La Serena, and the last one at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. This series of events is addressed to all those academics and students who work or who are interested in the area of ​​Numerical Analysis of EDPs. In particular, the participation of graduate and advanced undergraduate students is strongly encouraged, for whom some financial support is available. It is suggested to register as far in advance as possible because the number of exhibitors is limited.
