In order to strongly encourage the interaction between the different research areas and to make visible to the local and national scientific community the results obtained both by CI²MA members and by their external collaborators, this center periodically carries out a series of events, called "Focus Seminars", where the main advances are presented in some specific thematic area. This sequence of events continues, in its sixth version, on Thursday 8 August, with a seminar organized by Professors Soledad Torres and Rodolfo Rodríguez, about "Stochastic Modeling and Numerical Analysis", to be held in the Alamiro Robledo Auditorium of the Facultad de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas at the Universidad de Concepción. Five lectures will be offered by local researchers and visiting researchers from the Université de Lille 1, France, Universidad de Valparaíso, Universidad del Bío-Bío and Purdue University, USA. This event is sponsored and funded by the CI²MA Center, the CIMFAV Center of the Facultad de Ingeniería of the Universidad de Valparaíso, and the REDOC.CTA Performance Agreement of Universidad de Concepción.
